Debunking the Myths

Gaza is an "open air" prison - which is why they attacked Israel to "break out"

Before 10/7 foreigners and Gaza residence had full freedom to travel to Israel, Egypt and around the world.

  • Every month, an average of 59000 people exited Gaza through Israeli borders and 20000 through Egypt

  • Over 12000 truckloads of goods enter Gaza Striip monthly from Israel

  • 150,000 Arab Palestinians from Gaza and West Bank worked in Israel and about 18000 of them earned 10X higher salaries than in Gaza

On October 7th more than 3000 terrorists were not "breaking out" of Gaza - they were simply breaking into a sovereing country, Israel, to commit genocide.
This video shared by a Gazan shows what people would like you to believe is an "open air" prison or concentration camp.  It is simply NOT TRUE.

Isn't Israel's Law of Return a form of racism against non-Jews?

No. It is essential that Jews who are persecuted in other parts of the world to always access their homeland. The ONLY country that the Jewish people have self-determination.

Ireland, Finland, Greece, Czech Republic, Croatia and other democracies have similar laws giving immigrants with ethnic ties to those countries easier access to citizenship.  This law does not change the fact that Israel treats all citizens equally under the law, regardless of their background.

The Jewish people came from Europe and took over an established country called Palestine.

There has never been a country called Palestine on the land of Israel.  Jewish people have always had a presence on the land for 3000+ years whether it was a majority or a minority during all the years they were exiled from the land. Jewish immigration increased in waves from the late 1800s to the early 1900s and the Jewish people who returned to their homeland built it up and helped to improve the economy of a vastly empty land.  The Jewish developments resulted in the creation of employment which brought more Arabs from the surrounding countries to the area to work.

Quote from Mark Twain 1867
The Innocents Abroad

On Palestine

“ ...[a] desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds-a silent mournful expanse....A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life and action....We never saw a human being on the whole route....There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of the worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”

There is a famine in Gaza and Israel is starving the Palestinian people

Although there are many organizations that support the declaration of famine in Gaza, there is also a lot of data that shows that the hunger in Gaza does not meet the global standard of famine.  Regardless of this, the evidence also is clear that any cause of food insecurity is not Israel; it is due to the looting of aid by Hamas.  There is an ongoing war between Israel and Hamas (initiated by Hamas) which has led to the hunger in some areas of Gaza.  The reality is that Israel along with many other organizations has been sending in food by the truckloads but Hamas terrorists take control of the supplies and keep the resources for their terrorist fighters rather than feed the people.  The Gazan people are at the mercy of Hamas. Here is another perfect example of the double standards set for Israel.  There isn't another country that is expected to feed their enemy during war after their enemy attacked them, murdering over 1000 people and kidnapping more than 200.  Yet Israel is expected to look after the welfare of the people they are fighting against while those people hold Israelis hostage.  It seems absurd, however Israel, in coordination with Arab and European partners, have continued large-scale humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza, including airdropping food and faciliatating over 23,000 tonnes of aid deliveries since the summer. The fact is that Israel has done more to avoid a famine for Gazans than any other country in the world has done for them.  Hamas is completely responsible for the war and the hunger.

Socialism and communism are better for all of us

This is very simple to negate as long as your eyes are open to examine history.  Communism was not better for people and did not actually create a society in which there was equality and justice.  Instead, there was corruption, poverty and a reality of brutality and injustice.

Many critics argue that Israeli policies are solely responsible for the displacement of Palestinians and to the hardships faced by Palestinian refugees

This is simply not true and this belief is a perfect example of antisemitic statements that are made by holding Israel to double standards.  Arabs within Israel enjoy equal rights as citizens of the country.  Palestinians outside of Israel are not entitled to those rights since they are not citizens.  Furthermore, other countries are responsible for the persecution of Palestinian people and they also have not given them rights within their countrie, even when born there. Other countries such as Jordan, have allowed generational refugee status to be the reality for the Palestinian population.
