Was Israel colonized by Jewish people?
To answer this question first we need to understand what colonization means.
If Israelis are the “settlers” then what country are they trying to “colonize” the land for?
Who sent them? Jewish people can prove their indigenuity to the Land of Israel.
Just pick up any Bible or Quran and you will find reference to the “Children of Israel”. So how can the indigenous people on the land be referred to as the “colonizers” when they are not trying to control any other population; they simply are trying to live on the ancestral land.
England colonized Canada?
Spain colonized Costa Rica?
France colonized Senegal?
So what great Empire has colonized Israel? The Jewish people were the original population that built their kingdom on the land of Israel. It was the Kingdom of Israel led by King Solomon and King David.The
Jewish people have decolonized our ancestral land.
The Jewish people have had a continued presence on the land of Israel for 3000 years……..therefore they are NOT COLONIZERS.
Jewish immigrants who came to the land of Israel are not there to take control of the land for another political power…..therefore they are NOT COLONIZERS.
There wasn’t ever another country on the land that is ISRAEL. There were Roman colonizers who renamed it Palestine with the goal of colonizing it. There were British colonizers who again implemented the name Palestine on the land.
However, Israel gained its independence from the colonizers and reverted back to the Indigenous name of Israel which has been the homeland to the Jewish people for more than 3000 years.
Israel is the rebirth, and the decolonization of an ancestral land.
